Exercises 2Mockup-making & Content Generating ~ Mr Vinod demonstrated this exercise using a lecture playlist. We were given A4 (16 sheets) / A3 (8 sheets) paper, a large rubber band / thread with needle, adhesive tape (masking, sellotape, scotch), a steel ruler, a cutter, and a pencil. We were instructed to fold the A3 paper in half and create three different sizes that are smaller than A4 and larger than A5. I started looking into different sizes (the size chosen is highlighted below).
- 270x170mm
- 250x200mm
- 240x185mm

~ After choosing the final size, I began folding and cutting the 8 pieces of A3 paper into the desired size, yielding 32 pages in total. Then I use a needle and thread to sew it all together. I regrated that I bought a thick A3 paper haha.
Exercises 3, 4 & 5Van de Graaf , Signature Folding System & Grids~ After the mockup-making next will be signature folding system, van de graaf and grids . I spend a lot time to do the book mock up ,so I go back home continue to finish all of them.

Feedback
Week 4
General Feedback
~ Form & Movement 1st attempt : It is too complicated the lines and all that. try to simplify. The last second look too decorative like a shape, we can't use shapes that seem it mean something. W need form and shapes.
Week 3
General Feedback :
~I urge you to not be literal in the illustrations. urge you to be rough and abstract but at the same time. It needs to be engaging and exciting as well.
Week 2
General Feedback:
~ We have to create 16 visuals for our story of any media.
Specific feedback:
~ Add subtext and pull quote.
Reflection
Experience: It was really satisfying to see the pages stacked on top of each other to form a book and I had a lot of fun with my classmates. Each person had their own way of cutting the paper. One of the clever students pressed the paper with a water bottle to avoid creasing. Nonetheless, I also like exercises 6 and 7, which are form and movement. It had developed confidence and began experimenting with different grid structures.
Observation: I've noticed that how book layouts design can be playful, surprising, memorable and uninhibited.
Finding : I'll finding some books to read to improve my skills.

~I've read the anatomy of copyright and why it's in every book. This is due to As soon as a work of art is made, it is automatically protected by copyright. "Fair use" refers to some ways that copy-protected material can be used. It's fine to quote a short part of an essay or book to comment on it or explain what it means. As long as the parody does not always turn into a new work or product, it is considered fair use. Copyright law is meant to encourage people to be creative.

~Besides, I found that book's atmosphere can be greatly improved by carefully selecting and arranging the typefaces used through its pages. Designers can pick from a wide range of options, from classic to modern typefaces.
