Designed animated gif. Our task is to develop an animated (limited) illustration for an editorial to represent the chosen text. Examples as shown in class. We are to interpret the narratives decisive moment or the climax of the narrative.
My Idea :
After choosing a movie, I immediately thought of my favorite movie of all time, Narnia. This is a movie that I watched in my childhood. I still remember that after I watched it, I still had my dream in Narnia. It’s really amazing in my dreams and I still hug my favorite Aslan, I feel so blissful. Narnia has 3 in total, the first episode of "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe", the second episode of "Prince Caspian", and the third episode of "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader". I choose two of my favorite episodes that are the first and third episodes. Because there are a few parts I like in these two episodes, such as the Moment opening the mystical / magical wardrobe, the Moment Lucy hug Aslan, the Moment Reepicheep sailing to Aslan’s Country (His journey) and so on.

Figure 2 Sketch (01/10/2021)
I Google to find some inspirations. First, I googled the wardrobe first, because I need to pay attention to the details of the wardrobe and the snowy woods behind the wardrobe.
The second of course is to find my favorite scene is Lucy hug Aslan. Finally, when Reepicheep was sailing to Aslan’s Country, Reepicheep petite and lovely pushed his boat to his destination. But last I had decided to choose the wardrobe moment because it more suitable and it is also part of the climax in the movie.
I have an idea that I want to enter the closet from the perspective of VR or Lucy. I have an idea, I want to enter the closet from the perspective of VR or Lucy. But I think I still need to explore again because after Ms Anis 's opinion, I also agree that the appearance of those two hands is really not suitable for as a poster. So, I decided to explore more to improve my poster design.
My Exploration 2 :
Start to do the Poster
Attempt #1
First I try with landscape because the wardrobe is straight rectangular wardrobe so first I did not decide portrait. Besides, I found out my font did not have enough space and the space under the font are too empty. So I decided to change landscape into Portrait.
Figure 4 .2 Diifferent Font (08/10/2021)
I also try with different font and I choose ITC New Baskerville Std Italic to as my body text.
Attempt #2
I am satisfied with the second attempt, because everything has a certain amount of space including fonts. After solving the problem, I tried to change the background to the wall in the movie, but I thought it was too weird. So I tried Gradient but it felt too ghostly, so I changed it back to gray. This is why I insisted on using solid grey color.
Final Poster Design:
Start to do the Poster GIF
I want to move her hair when she opens the wardrobe, because I want to express that there is a mysterious place inside and that magical place emits a cold wind.
Figure 5.2 Different Timeline (11/10/2021)
Figure 5.3 GIF with 8 Layers Timeline (11/10/2021)
The Gif with 8 layers timeline is too fast and not smooth . So, I decided to choose figure 5.4 GIF with 4 layers timeline.
Final GIF Poster Design:
Reflection
I am very happy that I finally had the opportunity to do a work on the Narnia theme because there has been no suitable work to use this theme. Not only that, but I also feel grateful for your feedback to make my work more perfect.
