Introduction & Briefing
As far as I know, Mr. Jin Chi mentioned in the lecture video that
taking a selfie is simply a question of self-expression. It doesn't
need our face if we don't want it to. Self-portraits are frequently
used as a form of self-exploration to discover who we are and visually
convey our identities. Then we go to the briefing session to go
through all of our blogs,

I chose Dreams, Unicorns, My Family, Theme Parks, Plants and My Skateboard. The reason I choose to dream is that I always dream when I sleep. I like every dream, even if I don’t remember it sometimes. The unicorn is my favorite creature because I like its uniqueness, mystery and beauty and my Chinese Zodiac sign is also a horse. I also chose my favorite family because my parents don't want to participate in the filming, so I chose my brother and my favorite Yuki sister which is my pet. I had follow the steps to contemplate on your life experiences, which includes my culture, my family, my friends, my schooldays, my favourite hangouts, my favourite music, food, musician, etc. Observe my surroundings people, vehicles, buildings, plants, signages, nature, and activities. Record these in sketches, photography and video recording. So, the first idea of my favorite hangout is to go to the theme park because I'm a adventurous person and favorite amusement facility is roller coaster because the roller coaster let my hair down. I cannot wait when this pandemic end this is the first place I went. Finally, I first chose a skateboard. I remember I got this when I was 15 years old's birthday , and now we use it as our indoor vehicle. When we are too lazy to walk, we will use it. I'm the one good at it at home, so I like to use it because it is fun and convenient. Because of the reason I choose plants, because I like green nature, because my inspiration comes from my mother and she likes gardening. I really like the feeling when the flowers are blooming, like jasmine, frangipani, osmanthus in foreign countries and etc. Besides , the green plant also let me feel calm I always seat outside with Yuki enjoy the green view. There also have different color sometimes because the leaf of the tree can changing to yellow color ,red color or orange color .It is really cool.

This visual research seem like my imagination and my dream before so I choosing this as my visual research.

I like the way the creator collage with using different images that without connected turn to a topic like travel with motorcycle to place that he ever been before.
This visual research had inspired me a lot .It also had show the principle of design which is rule of third ,balance and movement .Because the cloud let me feeling like it moving.

After I get inspired from figure 2.3.So this is my outcome and love it too. I also get some suggestion from Ms .Jinchi can research Dali Surrealism, Rene Magritte and Claes Oldenburg.

First I went to refer to his works and got to know Claes Oldenburg. He is Pop-art sculptor, best known for his giant soft sculptures of everyday objects. He usually chose the ordinary products of daily life as his topics like "Dropped Cone", "Apple core"," Giant clothespin".

I also remind me the Heather Philipson 's "The End". I cannot remember what the meaning that it want to express so I research the information again. This large scale cartoon style artwork subverts daily life and stimulates the senses. There have a huge cherry whip cream, surrounded by a flying insect and a drone on both sides. This artwork mixing politics, poetry, and dark surreal humor, Phillipson's works give people a multi-layered, like a dream world full of bright fluorescent paint, but underneath it hides huge mistakes. It seems very cheerful and pop. It may also evoke the desire of passersby to eat creamy ice cream, but at the same time it faintly conveys a disturbing atmosphere. It is hard to say which of the black flies or drones is more evil, obviously their habitat is only temporary. The cream seemed to pile up too high, sprayed too much, as if it was falling down. "It's on the verge of collapse." Phillipson said.

This painting really creative and suitable to as my reference. It bring hope and peace to me.They seem excited because the ship is arriving with butterflies that might represent faith for them.

This idea was came out when was shower .I want to control all my happiness in the palm of my hand, this is my first thought.
My Decision
~ I had choosing the second attempt because it show more my personality.

In order to match my brother's time and my time, my brother and I made an appointment to shoot together in the afternoon. During the process, we had a lot of fun. I really want the epidemic to go and play with my family as soon as possible.

First, I started with my favourite roller coaster first ,I create the roller coaster from Ai and putting it to Ps .

I had using the hue /saturation and brightness / contrast adjustment layer to adjust the color and the brightness.

I had ask some suggestions from Ms.Jinchi told me to add line on the rainbow track and darken the plant on the bottom left to make the asymmetrical balance and I agreed with that.

I had add the line and some cute little magical effects on the rainbow track and adjust the Bird' Nest Fern into the color that similar to the top right 's plant. Last , the figure7 on the left I had add a music note [quarter note] but I think it not really suitable and I try to using other color on it but still not obvious .Hence ,I choosing the figure on right.

~This portrait is to convey the message I'm a cheerful person .The tree at my back is my emotional tree blue color is sadness, red color is passion, green is friendliness and yellow is happiness. I'm the creator in my world full of imagination. Besides, the top left can see a pen that I always use that represent I'm an artist. There has a small mushroom and trees ,the mushroom is because my hair looks like a mushroom and mushroom also is my favourite food .The trees are represent I am a person who likes green plants and it also are the plants that surrounding me. Lastly, I hope people can control their own happiness and keep protect our world.
Feedback
The figure 3 's cherry with ice cream remind me the work of Claus Oldenburg I had show which has the cherry [ Spoonbridge and Cherry]. You can go to search Dali Surrealism, Rene Magritte and Claes Oldenburg 's works.
Add line on the rainbow track and darken the plant on the bottom left to make the asymmetrical balance and I agreed with that.
Reflection
I happy that I had using the principle of designs that I had learned from Ms. Jinchi and I felt enjoyable to express and sharing my life and my personality to everyone. I hope that everyone can try to draw their own portraits so that they and everyone can better understand themselves. It's really a great thing.
